WalkSF's annual fundraiser, the  SF Stair Challenge, starts at the park this Saturday.  It's an annual 5-mile route around the City, starting this year at the grand stairs of Alta Plaza.  WalkSF is a nonprofit dedicated to making city streets safer for everyone who walks.  Stop by to see the action, or to participate — there's still time to sign up. 

And .... did you donate to Alta Plaza Park this year?  Have you been thinking about it?  All members and donors of $25 or more can have the latest hot item, the Alta Plaza tote (seen in the event picture).  Park volunteers will be on the plaza from 7am to 3pm Saturday with totes.
