You may recall that a major renovation was proposed for the Marina waterfront that would have significantly changed the way the area is enjoyed by people from all over the City. The project proposal was put on hold after the Board of Supervisors passed legislation limiting how the West Harbor could be expanded. PHRA closely followed this issue, and joined with other neighborhood groups to oppose the project as initially presented.
The Recreation and Park Department is now holding a zoom meeting to introduce updates to the Marina Project. They will present “design changes based on new studies and the rules set by the Board of Supervisors to limit expansion of the West Harbor, while still achieving the main project goals: environmental remediation, improving public access to the waterfront, and ensuring the marina is financially sustainable.
