SAFETY AND SECURITY

SF311

For any emergency - police, fire, medical or other, call 911. 311 is the primary non-emergency customer service related to infrastructure and services. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. SF311 is the resource to request assistance with everything from abandoned bicycles to water quality concerns to parking enforcement or street and sidewalk cleaning. Call 311 to request information or to make a service request. Service requests can also be submitted via the 311 website or the 311 app.

Fire Department

All fire department information, including station locations and services are available at the SFFD website.

Neighborhood Emergency Response Team (NERT)

Community training for individuals, neighborhood groups and community-based organizations for both personal and neighborhood preparedness for disasters and emergencies.

Police

Addresses within PHRA boundaries are served by either Northern Station (415.614.3400) or Richmond Station (415.666.8000). Station webpages include captain names, contact information, and station newsletters. You can find the police station for any San Francisco address with the SFPD Station Finder Tool.

Street Crisis Response Team

A City service for responding to Behavioral Health Crises—such as homeless, mental health & substance issues. These teams are an alternative to police response and usually consist of a paramedic or EMT, and a crisis responder. To access, contact 911 and ask for Street Crisis Response Team support.

Board of Supervisors

Members of the Board of Supervisors – San Francisco’s governing body – are elected by district. Residents and businesses within PHRA boundaries are part of Supervisorial-District 2 (Supervisor Catherine Stefani) or District 5 (Supervisor Dean Preston).

Planning Department

Community planning, design review, planning code enforcement, zoning information, Planning Commission information and meetings. Within the Planning Department website, you can find the Property Information Map, which allows you to search for a wealth of information by address.

Department of Building Inspection

Apply for and submit building permits, find building permit information, track permits, file a complaint.

San Francisco Municipal Transit Agency (SFMTA)

Muni routes and fares, transportation project updates, residential parking permits, online payment of parking tickets, towing information, enforcement requests and more.

FARMERS MARKETS

There are three Farmers Markets near our neighborhood

Clement St. Farmers Market

Run by the Agricultural Institute of Marin (AIM), this year-round market operates Sundays from 9-2 on Clement St. between Arguello and 4th Ave.

Fillmore Farmers Market

Run by the Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association (PCFMA), this year-round market operates Saturdays from 9-1 at the Fillmore Center, near Fillmore and O’Farrell.

Fort Mason Farmers Market

Held at Fort Mason Center on Sundays from 9:30 - 1:30, Marina Blvd. Sponsored by the Golden Gate National Park Service.

San Francisco Public Libraries

Create an online account, order materials, find resources and events. The Golden Gate Valley and Presidio Branches lie within PHRA boundaries, Western Addition branch is just outside.

PARKS

There are two major parks within PHRA boundaries, and a large national park adjacent. For city-wide park information, see San Francisco Recreation and Parks, and also the supporting nonprofit organization, San Francisco Park Alliance.

Alta Plaza Park

Steep hillside park with beautiful views, bounded by Clay, Jackson, Scott, and Steiner Streets. Children’s playground, tennis courts, outdoor basketball court, offleash dog area, restrooms. See also Friends of Alta Plaza Park.

Lafayette Park

Four-block park with great City views, bounded by Gough, Laguna, Washington, and Sacramento Streets. Picnic space, children’s playground, tennis, off leash dog play area, and restrooms. See also Friends of Lafayette Park.

Presidio of San Francisco

Beautiful multi-use National Park in the City’s former U.S. Army Base offering outdoor activities, events, restaurants, a performing arts theater, event space and more.
